Trade surplus EUR 204 M in July

Hungary’s July trade surplus was 204 million euros in a second reading of data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH). In KSH’s first reading, the July surplus was estimated at 276 million euros. Revised figures show imports increased by an annual 9.2% in value terms to 8.862 billion euros, while exports rose by 8.3% to 9.066 billion.

The trade surplus narrowed by 53 million euros from the same month a year earlier.

In volume terms, exports rose by 8.1%, while imports were up 9.6%. Exports of machinery and transport equipment grew by 13% in volume terms.

Food, drinks and tobacco exports increased by 5.5%, while energy exports fell by 16%. Exports of manufactured goods increased by 4.8%.
